Recently my friend Kai Neill won a Win-A-Box Tournament with Chimera using the below list. Let’s look at some of the key cards and examine the basic strategy of Chimera.

  1. Big-Winged Berfomet: This card searches for a level 4 beast and/or Chimera Fusion when it’s summoned netting you a nice +2 easily as well as summoning a monster from your GY if it is used as a fusion material.
  2. Gazelle the king of Mythical Claws: Similar to Big-Winged Berfomet this card also searches on summon but only for a level 5 Fiend or Chimera Fusion.
  3. Chimera Fusion: As with many archetypes, fusion summoning plays a crucial role in Chimera decks. This card lets you summon powerful Chimera fusion monsters by using materials from your field or hand, giving you a strong presence on the field.
